Yuriko (Gift for Shining-Scribe)

This was a gift I made for . It's his birthday today (Oct. 8th, 2016). This is his beloved OC, Yuriko, from his story, Hellfire. (Fun fact: I actually helped him name the story.)

"But didn't you two...?" Yes, we had an incident. We're still not back together and we probably won't ever be. But I had an obligation to finish this. I told him back in June that I was going to do this for him. Once we split, I was able to still get permission to finish it. 

The prototype sketches were done in Japan, the best one being drawn in the back of a taxi on my way to dinner the second night in Takayama (hence why I refer to that as the "Takayama Sketch"). See it here: ~link not available yet~

I made sure to get a good look at the existing pictures that Shining-Scribe had commissioned other people to do for him, especially this one: shining-scribe.deviantart.com/… While this one doesn't depict her like my predecessors have, I still feel that I did a good job. The differences are the added band at her waistline (so the fabric around the bottom of her dress comes all the way around in layers) and the ball at the end of the ribbon on her scepter. I also used a couple of my own OC's/FC's to help out. Shining-Scribe and I used to pretend that Yuriko and my character, Caligastia (www.deviantart.com/art/The-Bla…), were a couple. In addition, we would have RP sessions where Yuriko and another character of mine, Minority (ceraisian-alchemist.deviantart…), would work together to make life miserable for Chris, Eggman, and his character Dr. Lavender (Dr. Lav for short). I also see Yuriko as having a personality as a mix of Cal's and Minority's. I also barrowed some of the components from how I drew Nyx (ceraisian-alchemist.deviantart…) in this drawing as well, especially with the unevenness of her shoulders, hips, and breasts.

He and I even talked about what her theme song would be. If I remember right, I think we agreed on "Mz Hyde" by Halestorm (www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej8or-…). A song I played constantly while working on this final version.

This final version is very different from the Takayama Sketch. And sadly, this version was done here in America. The body and the face were done on different sheets because I didn't like the initial face that I gave the body. I also used another new technique to give a metallic sheen to the metal parts. I colored it with the metallic colored pencil, erased a small part of it, and then used white Prismacolor colored pencil in the space I erased. And here's another neat thing. The handle for her scepter...was done FREE HANDED!
